Consumed by Revenge

We experience and see injustice all around us.  There are thieves, liars, abusers and murderers who seemingly get away with it.  Some victims spend countless hours of time and energy trying to seek revenge and justice.  It consumes their lives until they are left with only heartache, broken relationships and even empty bank accounts.  Certainly crime must be punished, but God does not want us wasting the precious moments of our life seeking revenge.  He wants us sharing His Word and His Light.  He wants:
“If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceable with all.”  Romans 12:18

God will take care of the deserved punishments, and He can do it in a far more effective way then any scheme we may try to implement.
“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance in mine, I will repay, says the Lord.’” Romans 12:19-20

If you read Revelation, especially as you hit chapter 6 and after, you we will see the fulfilling of Paul’s words.
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.”  Romans 1:18
